By combining advanced technology, a team of industry professionals, and tailored corrective action plans, we help fleets reduce risks, improve safety scores, and protect their bottom line.

What is the CrashComm Accident Review Committee?

The CrashComm Accident Review Committee is an independent panel of experts, including law enforcement professionals, certified crash reconstructionists, driver instructors, and fleet safety specialists dedicated to:

  • Providing unbiased determinations on accident preventability and fault.

  • Offering actionable recommendations to reduce future incidents.

  • Delivering corrective training and driver coaching for sustained safety improvements.

We provide comprehensive support for your fleet, from reviewing incident evidence to offering training solutions and regulatory compliance assistance.

How Does the Program Work?

Our program is designed to make accident reviews seamless, efficient, and impactful for your fleet.

Step 1: Input Your Vehicle List

  • Upon enrollment, fleets upload their vehicle information through the CrashComm custom portal, including:

    • Vehicle IDs, license plates, and VINs.

    • Driver assignments and fleet details.

  • A recurring monthly fee of $2 per vehicle ensures:

    • FMCSA-Compliant Accident Registry Management: Your accident register is maintained, updated, and audit-ready.

    • Automatic Documentation Storage: All accident-related documents, photos, and reports are securely stored for easy access.

    • Proactive Alerts: Notifications for missing or expiring information keep you ahead of compliance requirements.

Step 2: Submit Accident Cases

  • Fleets submit accident cases via the CrashComm portal, providing:

    • Driver statements

    • Police and claims reports

    • Dashcam footage, telematics data, and photos/videos

    • Any supporting documentation.

Step 3: Comprehensive Review

  • Our expert-led committee evaluates each case using industry-leading guidelines, reviewing:

    • Evidence such as dashcam footage and telematics data.

    • Driver actions and compliance with fleet policies.

    • Environmental and third-party factors.

  • Cases are classified as:

    • Preventable: The accident could have been avoided with reasonable precautions.

    • Not Preventable: The accident was unavoidable.

    • Incident: Non-driver-related occurrences (e.g., acts of nature).

Step 4: Manage Your Crash Registry

  • CrashComm automatically updates your crash registry with:

    • Accident details, including date, location, injuries, and damages.

    • Documentation for FMCSA reporting requirements.

  • The portal ensures your registry is always up-to-date and easily accessible, eliminating manual tracking and compliance risks.

Step 5: Recommendations & Corrective Actions

  • For Preventable accidents, our committee recommends:

    • Driver coaching sessions or tailored training programs.

    • Monthly live webinars focusing on defensive driving and risk reduction.

    • Policy improvements for fleet-wide safety.

Step 6: Appeals Process

  • Drivers may appeal preventable determinations through the CrashComm Appeals Board, ensuring fairness and transparency.
